The farrier/blacksmith craft is one of the oldest professions. The horse has had many jobs throughout history: means of transport, war horse, work horse, companion/therapy animal, etc., but one thing that never changes is the obligation of the owner to maintain a healthy animal.
Hoof care is essential in keeping a horse sound and able to perform its best at whatever task it is given. Regularly scheduled farrier appointments is a must. The average time between visits is 6-8 weeks, and your next appointment will be booked before we leave to keep your horse on the proper schedule.
For the safety of the horse and farrier, please make sure the legs and hooves are free from mud/muck before we arrive. Also, please inform us of any current or past issues with the lower leg/hoof, or if a former farrier has had difficulties working with your horse. We will take a brief history on each new animal we work on.
